When choosing a commercial or even a residential elevator it is important to know a bit about the various elevators manufacturers. There are many companies today that produce and distribute elevators for homes. If you know a bit about these different companies and the products that they provide then you have a much better chance of choosing a quality elevator with the features that you want.

Basic Overview of Features

There are many different features that you can choose and most elevators manufacturers offer the same types of features. Some of the more luxury features will drive up the cost but many feel that they are more than worth it. Most residential elevators today can be completely customized to make them as unique as you want them. Various safety features include backup power facilities which are excellent choices for elevators that run on electricity. Many models also offer manual systems, sensors under the platform, emergency lighting, automatic controls, emergency telephone systems and various alarms as well as safety interlocks. Other features are considered to be luxury items such as custom lighting, many carpeting choices and even music integrated into the cab.

High End Manufacturers

The materials that are used to create some residential elevators are specifically chosen by many elevators manufacturers for luxury. High end manufacturers may automatically include various luxury features such as lighting and carpeting while others will add these features to the overall cost. The most expensive residential elevators today have custom designed elevator cars that may resemble bird cages, spaceships and other various items. These custom elevators can often cost more than $100,000. There are of course, less expensive versions of these luxury lifts. Manufacturers that typically get listed on the high end of the price market include TK Access, Federal Elevator, American Crescent, Savaria Concord and Inclinator among several others. These are the elevators manufacturers that produce custom designed luxury residential elevators although there are a few basic models provided by each. Price ranges in the mid to high end manufacturing range typically run between $15,000 and more than $40,000.

Low End Manufacturers

There is a lower end of the price range for elevators manufacturers as well. These are typically the small winding drum residential elevators that do not include luxury design choices. You will still have the benefit of being able to travel to various stories of your home without walking up and down the stairs but without the various luxury features. The Windsor model by TK Access is considered a low end model and while it does the job of giving you more mobility, it comes without many of the bells and whistles that the higher end models have. Most elevators manufacturers offer lower priced models that do not include various safety and luxury features. If cost is an issue then a lower end model will be an excellent choice. Whether you are purchasing a residential elevator for luxury or necessity it is important that you always purchase from a reputable dealer and buy only quality manufacturers items.
